When the Roseville City School District (RCSD) invited the West Roseville community to choose a new native mascot for Winding Creek Elementary, families selected the dragonfly. Nichole began the project with detailed anatomical drawing studies before turning her focus to the color strategy.

Recognizing that the initial color options fell short of W3C accessibility guidelines—a key requirement for California schools under ADA compliance—Nichole guided the district staff on contrast principles and revised the palettes before community voting. Families ultimately chose the Emerald Green, Soft Amethyst, and Sky Blue combination.

Working alongside the Communications Director, district staff, and the new principal, Nichole refined the final mascot design. This successful collaboration established an ongoing partnership with RCSD, leading to additional district projects, including a mascot refresh for Jefferson Elementary.
